Rosie White scored a brilliant goal as Liverpool Ladies returned to winning ways with a 4-0 victory away at Sunderland on Wednesday night.

It was a morale-boosting result for Scott Rogers' side and they were full value for the points.

Last month in Widnes, Sunderland had come back from two goals down to claim a draw in the Women's Super League, but on this occasion the hosts had no answer to Liverpool's attacking intent.

New Zealand star White fired the Reds into the lead with an excellent strike into the far corner via the post.

England international Alex Greenwood then made it 2-0 with her first goal for the club from the penalty spot, after Natasha Harding had been brought down in the area.

Sunderland had their moments but found Siobhan Chamberlain at her best between the posts for the Ladies as she made two brilliant saves to deny ex-Red Lucy Staniforth.

Harding then claimed the third goal when her cross took a deflection on its way into the net after a weaving run through the Black Cats rearguard.

A fourth arrived just before the end as substitute Katie Zelem netted from a superb assist from Shanice Van De Sanden to seal three points.

Liverpool Ladies: Chamberlain, Murray (Hodson), Greenwood, Ingle, Bonner, Longhurst, Coombs, White (Zelem), Lundh, Harding, Weir (Van De Sanden).
