Liverpool Ladies' Jess Clarke joins Kick It Out as an ambassador
Liverpool Ladies forward Jess Clarke has been announced as an ambassador for Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation.
The 28-year-old will help endorse the messages of Kick It Out by providing support with events and initiatives run by the organisation – beginning on Thursday March 15.
Jess is set to join Kick It Out at an educational event alongside Paul Mortimer, Kick It Out’s professional players engagement manager, to deliver an equality workshop to Year 3-6 pupils at Arnot St Mary's Primary School.
During the event, Jess will be on hand to help Paul discuss Kick It Out’s work, as well as reflect on language and behaviour around key equality issues such as racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination.
The ambassador programme at Kick It Out brings together a number of footballers from diverse backgrounds across the Premier League, English Football League, Women’s Super League and beyond to champion the organisation’s core messages of equality and inclusion.
Jess will join the likes of Arsenal Women’s Jordan Nobbs, Barcelona Women’s Toni Duggan and AFC Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson as an ambassador.
Following the announcement, Jess was delighted to show her support for Kick It Out: “It is a real honour for me to become an ambassador for Kick It Out. I feel privileged to be a part of such a fantastic organisation and feel that this is a great opportunity for me to promote equality and inclusion through my experiences in football.”
Paul Mortimer was also delighted to welcome Jess to the cohort of ambassadors.
He said: “I’m confident Jess will be an important addition to our team and I’m excited to begin working together to take Kick It Out’s messages of equality and inclusion even further afield.
“As an organisation, we are constantly striving to improve our presence in the Women’s Super League and I believe having Jess on board will be an important step towards that. It’s great to see both Jess and Liverpool Ladies supporting Kick It Out’s mission.”
