Express: Reds want Barca stopper
Liverpool are set to bring Barcelona stopper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to Anfield on loan this month.
The German keeper moved to the Camp Nou from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer and is seen as the long-term successor to Victor Valdes - now at Manchester United - at the Catalan club.
But the 22-year-old has struggled to displace Claudio Bravo between the sticks at his new club and has openly talked about his dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time.
Earlier this week, Ter Stegen said: "For now, the manager counts on me for the Cup and Champions League, but I'd like to play in the league.
"I want La Liga, even if Bravo is doing a good job."
Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in another keeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet and Brad Jones on Merseyside.
And while Barca won't countenance a permanent departure for Ter Stegen, reports in Spain suggest Liverpool are hopeful that the the Catalan outfit might be amenable to a short term deal.
Ter Stegen still features regularly for Luis Enrique in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey and it remains to be seen whether Barca are genuinely willing to consider letting the German international leave before the end of the transfer window.
