Jurgen Klopp agrees Liverpool contract
Jurgen Klopp has agreed his deal to become the new Liverpool manager.
Talks were completed today ahead of the former Borussia Dortmund boss flying into John Lennon Airport from Germany this afternoon.
The ECHO understands that Klopp won’t actually put pen to paper on what is believed to be a three-year contract until after he has arrived in Liverpool.
However, all the remaining details have been ironed out and it’s now a formality that Klopp will be unveiled as Brendan Rodgers’ successor.
His opening press conference is scheduled to take place on Friday. Klopp, who won two Bundesliga titles during his time with Dortmund, will bring in Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz with him as part of his backroom staff.
Klopp’s first game in charge will be away to Tottenham in the Premier League on October 17.
