LIVERPOOL want to sign on-loan West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini, according to reports.

The Argentina ace has impressed since joining the Hammers on a year-long deal from Al-Jazira in the summer.

And Bleacher Report claim his stunning form has alerted the Reds, who are keen to beat their Premier League rivals to his signature on a permanent basis.

West Ham are understood to be desperate to tie up a deal but may now face stiff competition.

Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp is said to have asked for regular updates on how his situation and long-term future is developing.

Lanzini has netted five goals in 14 games in all competitions this term and is set for more responsibility after a long-term injury to Dimitri Payet.

The 22-year-old has a buyout clause of £5.5million in his current contract with his parent club, which the Hammers want to activate.

But the lure of Anfield might put paid to their hopes of signing him and the price-tag would represent a bargain, given the way he has adapted to life in England so quickly.
