Reds plan January move for Tello
Liverpool will try and sign Barcelona winger Cristian Tello in January, according to reports.
Tello is currently in the second year of a two-year loan spell at porto, and the Portuguese side can make the deal permanent for £9m.
Porto though have not confirmed if they want to sign the player, and Spanish publication El Mundo Deportivo claims Liverpool could nip in and complete a deal in January.
The 24-year-old winger is known for his electrifying pace and dribbling ability.
Meanwhile, Liverpool target Stefan Kiessling has hinted he may leave Bayer Leverkusen in January.
An emotional Kiessling told Sky Sport Deutschland he may have played his last game for Leverkusen. "I’ve got to be honest and say we’ll have to see," the 31-year-old striker said.
"I’ve given it some thought and I will keep thinking about it. The situation is that of course I would like to be playing – I’ve been here for 10 years and love this club and everybody knows how happy I am here.
"I’ve got a pretty good relationship with the fans and of course also with the club. I love playing here and I love this club, and it’s overall a very, very difficult situation for me and everybody knows this.
"I’ve been here nearly 10 years and always played and when you sit on the bench so often, then it does get on your nerves,’ he said before embracing the club's supporters, in what has been perceived by some as a farewell gesture.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have been given a boost in their pursuit of Napoli winger Dries Mertens.
According to The Mirror, the Belgian international is stalling on a new contract, with his current deal expiring in 2018.
Mertens, who is valued at around £13m, is also wanted by Inter and has scored six goals in 14 games this season.
