Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has dismissed reports linking Neven Subotic with an imminent move to Liverpool.

The Serbian defender has made just four appearances for Dortmund this season after being replaced in first team by Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

And Subotic was said to be close to joining the Reds and reuniting with former boss Jurgen Klopp, who brought the player to Dortmund in 2008.

But Tuchel was clear that he views the centre-back has an important member of his squad and will not consider selling him.

"To Subotic, I can say that we need him as an integral part of the team.

"If it remains solely my decision, there is not the slightest reason for a change."
