Liverpool have completed the loan signing of Steven Caulker from Queens Park Rangers, with the defender registered for the Anfield club until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Caulker had been on loan at Southampton, but had found his playing time restricted, with Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk favoured in the first-team.

Following the completion of the deal, the 24-year-old was successfully registered before the Premier League’s 12pm deadline, and will be eligible to face Arsenal should he be named in the squad for Wednesday's fixture.

Jurgen Klopp was keen to add another option to the heart of defence, where Kolo Toure is the only certain option for the showdown with Arsene Wenger's men at Anfield.

Mamadou Sakho is pushing to be included after shaking off a minor knee injury, but Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel are still sidelined with hamstring strains.
