Liverpool are interested in Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo, according to reports.

Parejo is having a tough season with the Spanish club who are massively underachieving this term, currently sitting in 15th place in the league.

Gary Neville was sacked as manager last month and Parejo has come under fire from the Valencia fans in recent weeks.

In January, after a poor run of form, the midfielder was stripped of his captaincy.

And Spanish outlet Fichajes claim Liverpool are hoping to capitalise on the upheaval by offering him an escape route in the summer.

The report says the Reds are hoping to get a bargain deal and are looking to undercut his £8million valuation.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be a fan of the former Real Madrid man, and could be looking for midfield reinforcements with Lucas Leiva, Joe Allen and James Milner's futures uncertain.

Parejo has made 130 league appearances for Valencia since joining from Getafe in 2011, scoring 23 goals and has 19 caps for Spain U21s.
