Jurgen Klopp has pulled off a deal to bring Bayern Munich dietician Mona Nemmer to Anfield this summer.

The German boss is busy ringing in the changes ahead of his first full season in charge on Merseyside.

Last month Klopp made Bayern Munich’s fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer a summer acquisition and he has gone back to Germany again as he seeks to make big backroom changes.

Nummer will take up a position as head of nutrition at Melwood.

Her arrival comes as Klopp looks to revitalise his squad in the summer and is planning big changes to the club’s pre-season.

And the German is aware he’ll have to juggle his pre-season preparations with the Euros.

“The problem with pre-season is that for the first three weeks we have 15 players who will have been away at the Euros and we also have to see how the squad is changing,” said Klopp.

“On another planet we would have six weeks together training because in this league it is the only time that you can train.

“We stop pre-season in the middle of August and maybe with the players who come back from the Euros it will be difficult, so we might have to make their pre-season two weeks longer so that it goes into the season.

“That might mean they do not play at that stage or they are only allowed to play so many minutes.”
