Reds may wait on Borussia star Dahoud
Liverpool may be forced to wait until next summer to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud.
Dahoud impressed last term for Gladbach, cementing himself in the starting XI and making 41 appearances in all competitions.
This has attracted the attention of Jurgen Klopp and Express Sport understands the German boss is keen to bring the 20-year-old to Anfield.
However, website Goal.com claim Gladbach are not willing to sell their star man and have already lost one holding midfielder - Granit Xhaka - to Arsenal this summer.
The report claims the Bundesliga side are in a strong position to keep hold of Dahoud, but this will not deter Liverpool.
It is said the Reds will wait until the following summer to sign the Germany U21 international if they fail to bring him in this year.
Express Sport understands Dahoud has already attracted the attention of Manchester United and City and would command a fee in the region of £20million.
However, the Reds could have the edge over their Premier League rivals as Dahoud shares the same agent with Liverpool duo Emre Can and Samed Yesil.
Dahoud is a product of Gladbach's youth academy and made the step up to the senior squad in 2014, making 33 Bundesliga appearances and scoring five goals.
