Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly emerged as rivals to Liverpool for the signing of Koln and Germany left-back Jonas Hector.

The 26-year-old is currently featuring at Euro 2016, and scored the winning penalty against Italy at the weekend to help book the Germans' spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Mauricio Pochettino now reportedly joins both Liverpool and Wolfsburg in the pursuit of the defensive ace, although they will have to splash out as it’s claimed in the report that his displays in France this summer have seen his valuation boosted to £17m.

Hector made 34 appearances in all competitions for Koln last season, and has established himself as a steady presence on the left flank for both club and country.

It remains to be seen where his next move takes him, but both Liverpool and Tottenham will likely be monitoring his situation closely in the coming weeks with a view of making a move.

Jurgen Klopp has already been busy this summer with the signings of the likes of Sadio Mane and Joel Matip, while Pochettino has taken Victor Wanyama to White Hart Lane.
