Wijnaldum waiting to discover whether he can face United
Georginio Wijnaldum should discover tomorrow if he has any chance of being fit for Liverpool's clash with Manchester United on Monday.
Wijnaldum, 25, was being assessed by Liverpool's medical staff at Melwood today after injuring his right hamstring playing for Holland in last night's World Cup qualifying defeat to France.
The midfielder, who has started every Premier League game for Liverpool during their fine start to the campaign, was due to have a scan on his damaged muscle.
Liverpool and Wijnaldum should find out the results tomorrow and the £25million summer signing from Newcastle is already a big doubt for the United game at Anfield.
Emre Can could make his first league start of the season in place of Wijnaldum if he is ruled out.
Liverpool were already sweating on Adam Lallana's fitness and the playmaker missed England's qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia with a groin injury picked up at Swansea 10 days ago.
Lallana is responding to treatment and Liverpool will give him every chance to prove his fitness for Monday.
Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne also sustained injuries during the win at Swansea, but it is understood both will be available to face United.
