PL interest in Southampton ace hots up
Everton have reportedly become the latest club to express an interest in Virgil van Dijk.
The Southampton defender has had no shortage of interest so far.
Reports over the weekend indicated Manchester City are chasing a potential deal, as they seek to shore up their defence.
Vincent Kompany is expected to be out for up to six weeks after picking up a knee injury in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace nine days ago.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the £30m-rated defender, with Jose Mourinho an admirer.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been talked about as a potential suitor, although it would seem landing a left-back is high on Jurgen Klopp's list of priorities.
But according to the Daily Mirror, Everton are keeping tabs, with Ronald Koeman, who previously managed Saints, interested in a reunion.
It is believed the Toffees manager wants to bring in a suitable replacement for John Stones, who joined City over the summer.
Koeman will have seen Van Dijk at close quarters on Sunday at St Mary's.
The 25-year-old centre-back helped his side keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over the Merseyside outfit.
