Malcom in the middle of Liverpool v Man U tussle
Liverpool and Manchester United could be going head-to-head for the signature of Bordeaux's Brazilian ace Malcom in the summer.
Scouts from both north-west rivals were in attendance at the Stade Matmut Atlantique on Friday as the 19-year-old forward started in Bordeaux's 3-0 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Malcom, who is named after the late political rights activist Malcolm X, joined Bordeaux in 2015 and is under contract with the Ligue 1 club until 2020.
Although he undertook a couple of his trademark dribbles from deep during the match, he was unable to cause much trouble to the PSG defence and was withdrawn on 78 minutes after suffering an injury.
Following the match, however, Malcom told Canal Plus Sport that he wants to play in and win the Champions League one day - something he is unlikely to achieve with Bordeaux.
"For me, it's not important which club and which championship I am in," he said. "I want to play for a big club, in the Champions League and win it."
