Liverpool on cusp of signing Burnley defender
Liverpool are reportedly on the cusp on beating Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of Burnley defender Michael Keane.
Keane, 24, has impressed across three seasons at Turf Moor and his performances in the Premier League this term have put a number of top sides on red alert ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mirror suggest Liverpool have agreed personal terms in principle with Keane and Jurgen Klopp is confident of wrapping up a deal for the England centre-back.
However, it’s understood Keane is desperate to play Champions League football next season and is waiting to see if the Merseyside outfit qualify for Europe’s premier competition.
It’s believed both United and Chelsea have also expressed a strong interest in the Clarets star over the course of his impressive campaign under Sean Dyche.
Keane came through the academy ranks at Old Trafford but only made five first-team appearances for United’s first-team before securing a permanent switch to Burnley.
Dyche’s side are believed to be demanding around £25million for Keane in the lead-up to the 2017/18 campaign.
