Naby Keita is understood to have his heart set on a stunning move to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is just as keen on the highly-rated Guinea midfielder and Liverpool are prepared to shatter their transfer record to land him.

Red Bull Leipzig want a staggering £70million for the 22-year-old, who helped them into the Champions League last season.

Liverpool believe they can agree a more realistic fee and former Reds striker Titi Camara has claimed Leipzig are already gearing up for life after Keita.

The ex-Guinea international, a cult hero under Gerard Houllier, has even claimed Keita already knows what shirt he wants to wear.

Camara said on Twitter: “From what I’m led to believe Naby has his heart set on LFC move.

“Leipzig have been informed of his intent and are looking for replacement."

Liverpool will hope Camara is right as they step up their bid to lure Keita to Anfield.

Keita’s international team-mate Kamil Zayatte, who played for Hull, has claimed the midfielder will be perfect for the Merseyside giants.

Zayatte said: “Liverpool is a very big club in England. Naby have had a season that has propelled him to the front of the European scene.

“He has proved he has quality and I think he will learn. I think he has all the qualities needed to play at Liverpool.

“If he does sign, it will all depend on how well he is integrated into the club and how he will be used.”

Keita has a €55m release clause in his contract — worth around £48m — from July 2018, but Liverpool are willing to pay more than that to sign him now.

Leipzig have insisted Keita is not for sale after seeing him score eight goals and make eight assists in his first season in the Bundesliga.

But the Reds are determined to test their resolve and Camara’s revelation could encourage them.
