Norwich demand £30million for Reds target James Maddison
Norwich are preparing to sell prized asset James Maddison this summer but will demand up to £30million with Manchester City now keen too.
The Canaries travel to high-flying Derby today and have had Premier League big boys Liverpool and Tottenham hot on the attacking English starlet for weeks.
But MirrorSport understands Premier League leaders City have also joined in the chase as well.
It underlines the stunning progress and potential of ex-Coventry trainee Maddison, 21, who has eight goals and five assists in the Championship this term.
The Canaries refused to sell him in January as they offloaded Alex Pritchard to Premier League Huddersfield for £11m and Cameron Jerome to Derby instead.
While last summer they also cashed in on stars Jonny Howson and Jacob Murphy.
But a transfer for Maddison has already been provisionally sanctioned providing the Carrow Road club get a massive offer as their parachute payments are due to expire this summer.
The fee would have to eclipse the £30m Spurs paid relegated Newcastle for Moussa Sissoko in August 2016 to set a new record for a move from the Championship.
Other clubs including Southampton and ambitious promotion certs Wolves are also interested.
But such is Maddison’s stock and ability he is expected to move to one of the Premier League’s top clubs.
