Liverpool hoping to land Christian Pulisic
Jurgen Klopp wants to make it third time lucky in his bid to bring Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic to Liverpool.
The Reds boss is a big fan of the 19-year-old United States international who can play as a midfielder or an attacking midfielder.
Klopp has failed with two previous bids to sign him but, with two years left on his contract, Pusilic could become available this summer.
The German initially tried to bring Pulisic to Anfield in 2016, but saw an £11million bid rejected and Reds' scouts have since continued to monitor his progress since.
Arsenal’s new head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat is also interested in the player but Pusilic is thought to favour a move to Anfield.
However, Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc says he “knows nothing” about a potential Liverpool move.
Pulisic has become Dortmund's most valuable asset following the exits of Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the last year.
And Zorc says he has no knowledge of a potential big-money swoop from the Champions League finalists.
“I’m in constant contact with Jurgen Klopp,” he admitted to Bild . “But I know nothing about that.”
Dortmund are desperate to hand Pulisic a new contract but a deal that was discussed back in February remains unsigned.
Manchester United are also keeping tabs on a player whose contract at the Westfalenstadion has two years left to run.
Bayern Munich have also been watching, as club chiefs Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge actively seek to bring down the age of the squad and seek long-term replacements for veteran pair Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
