Liverpool target happy to stay at AS Roma
Liverpool have been dealt a transfer blow with the news that goalkeeping target Allsson is "very happy at AS Roma" and "content to remain" with the Italian club.
Liverpool have long been linked with a move for the Brazilian and that speculation has intensified.
But Brazilian goalkeeping hero Claudio Tafferel, currently goalkeeping coach to the national team, told Italian radio station Tele Radio Stereo: "Alisson is very happy at Roma and the rumours of a transfer are just rumours. I don’t know what will happen, but he said he’d be content to remain at Roma."
Taffarel works with Allsson and Manchester City number one Ederson in the Brazilian squad, but endorses coach Tite's view that Alisson is the better goalkeeper and believes the Roma shotstopper is on target to become one of the best keepers in the world.
He kept a clean sheet in today's World Cup warm up victory over Austria which the Brazilians won 3-0.
"Alisson is only a year older than Ederson, but has grown so much, ever since he was given the starting role against Venezuela.
"He is a step above Ederson right now, as the Manchester City man can improve with his feet and in terms of experience.
"Alisson could be named among the best goalkeepers in the world, along with Thibaut Courtois, David De Gea and Manuel Neuer."
