Liverpool have launched a sensational bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, according to reports in Brazil.

The transfer saga appeared to be over before it really got going on Monday, as Sky Sports reported that the Reds were being priced out of the deal.

However, reports closer to Alisson's home suggest Jurgen Klopp is ready to splash out on the Roma shot-stopper.

Brazilian outlet Terra claim Liverpool have launched a R$285m offer for the 25-year-old, which works out at £57m.

The publication claims this offer has been accompanied by a promise from Klopp, who has told Alisson he would be the No 1 at Anfield.

Real Madrid are also interested in securing his signature.

However, with Los Blancos currently without a manager, Liverpool may be able to swoop in with a bid.

Alisson has admitted he wants to sort his future before the World Cup, which gets underway on Thursday.

Terra claim if the Serie A stopper has not agreed a deal before the tournament in Russia, he will wait until Brazil are eliminated before reopening negotiations.
