Liverpool are reportedly still in contention to sign Roma star Alisson Becker.

Roma stopper Alisson has emerged as the main name in the frame to fill in between the sticks at Anfield having enjoyed an impressive spell at the Stadio Olimpico.

Although Liverpool have faced serious competition from Real Madrid as they go after the Brazil international, who’s currently on duty at the World Cup.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport indicate a move to the Bernabeu is not cut and dry though, despite Alisson agreeing terms with Real.

Real Madrid are apparently happy to hand the former International ace a £4m-a-year (€5m) contract to call time on his Roma career.

But they have decided to hold firm on the stance previously revealed by Florentino Perez that they will not meet Roma’s £70m (€80m) asking price.

Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that means Liverpool remain an option for Alisson, who’s also been looked at by their Premier League rivals Chelsea.
