World Cup star sends exciting transfer message
RB Leipzig and Sweden star Emil Forsberg has declared he is ready to join a big club this summer.
The forward enjoyed another excellent season in Germany and is now representing Sweden at his first World Cup as a player. Liverpool and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old and Forsberg has now moved to encourage his suitors to come forward.
Forsberg is under contract at Leipzig until 2022, but admitted he is dreaming of a switch during this transfer window.
"I'm ready for the next big step," he told Fotbollskanalen."That’s going to be very interesting. I am in dialogue with RB and always had a good relationship with the club.
"I have the dream of playing for the strongest clubs in the world."
Forsberg’s come-and-get-me plea may spark a bidding war for the exciting attacker, who is valued at around £47million by his club.
Liverpool have a good relationship with Leipzig after agreeing a deal for Naby Keita a year in advance after extensive negotiations.
Arsenal are hoping to get their transfer business done as quickly as possible as Unai Emery prepares for his first pre-season as head coach.
Forsberg’s declaration may tempt the Premier League duo to adjust their transfer plans, but it is unlikely any talks will take place before Sweden’s participation in the World Cup is over.
