Barcelona are looking to hijack Premier League clubs aiming to land in-demand Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele in January after watching his midfield masterclass against Man City on Tuesday.

According to Spanish news outlet Sport, the Catalan club sent Ramon Planes to France to watch the 21-year-old in their 2-2 draw in the Champions League.

The France international has reportedly attracted significant evidence from Everton, but Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Tottenham are also rumoured to be interested.

Man City boss Pep Guardiola fuelled those rumours by praising Ndombele and midfield partner Houssem Aouar after Tuesday's game.

But the performance of Ndombele could have shot him up the shortlist of Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal.
