Liverpool have received a major boost in their pursuit of Adrien Rabiot after Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director Antero Henrique confirmed that the midfielder will not be signing a new contract.

The 23-year-old has been in negotiations with the French champions for several months with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.

But Henrique admits PSG have now pulled out of talks with Rabiot and says the midfielder has indicated that he wants to leave the club.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been monitoring Rabiot’s situation and reports in France have claimed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have held discussions with PSG over a potential transfer.

And PSG could now decide to sell Rabiot in the January transfer window to ensure that they do not miss out on a transfer fee for the France international.
