Kylian Mbappe fuels Liverpool transfer speculation
Kylian Mbappe has done little to quell the speculation over him moving to Liverpool after praising the club and manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has been linked with a move to the Reds this summer, although PSG have said they have absolutely no intention of selling the 20-year-old.
However, the World Cup winner has hardly reassured fans in Paris that he is staying when he was asked which team he would pick given a free choice on video game FIFA.
In an interview with ESPN, Mbappe was asked: "We play one game and we bet, who do you pick?" After a brief pause, he replied: "I play with Liverpool because they win the Champions League."
Mbappe was then asked if he likes Jurgen Klopp, replying: "Yeah he's good."
While it is hardly a confirmation that a move is about to happen, the Frenchman is clearly happy to have his name linked with a move to Anfield by bringing the club up.
The prolific striker also openly talked about a potential move to America later in his career, name-dropping a Liverpool legend in the process.
"We don’t know what happens in football," said Mbappe.
"Now in the USA, a lot of great players come after their careers in Europe, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, great players.
"You don’t know what can happen, maybe when I’m a little older I can think about this."
Mbappe had an incredible goal-scoring season with PSG, netting 33 times in 29 Ligue 1 games and scoring 39 in 43 across all competitions.
The forward cost PSG £166m from Monaco in 2017 and with the club not wanting to sell him, it seems that he would cost a prohibitively huge amount for a transfer to happen this summer.
