Timo Werner hints at Premier League transfer
Timo Werner has hinted that he will look for a Premier League move this summer.
The Germany striker, 23, is enjoying a magnificent season for Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig, having scored 18 goals in 17 league outings at the halfway point of the season.
He is set to remain with Julian Nagelsmann’s side for the rest of the season, as the German upstarts look to fend off the likes of Bayern Munich to win a first league title.
RBL are also seeking European glory and face Tottenham in the last 16 of the Champions League.
But Werner's long-term future will almost certainly be elsewhere, with rising interest in the forward.
Real Madrid have been linked with the forward, while Chelsea have also registered their interest in the striker.
Manchester United too have been linked, while Jurgen Klopp is a long-time admirer.
Werner has previously made clear that he will need to step up to a bigger club at some point in the not-too-distant future.
And he will have pricked up the ears of interested English parties with his latest Premier League declaration.
"The Premier League is certainly the most interesting league, you have to say,” he told Bild. "There is a certain flair to watching the English league and playing there.”
Aat present, his only focus is on leading RBL to silverware, explaining that to be his “ultimate” ambition right now.
"As of now I have no desire to look for a move elsewhere."
RBL continue their German title challenge when they return to action following the league's winter break, when they host Union Berlin.
