Work on Anfield's Main Stand redevelopment has continued at an astonishing pace over the past two months – and our official time-lapse video and images perfectly capture the speed of the construction.

Filmed by a specially-positioned camera within the construction site, fans can see how things have progressed in the free video and gallery below.

Over the last couple of months, stairs and the metal decking that will hold the Main Stand's new floor have been installed and all main foundation work has been completed.

The new structure has almost reached full height as the highest pedestrian floor level has been installed - it currently stands higher than the existing Main Stand, with an upper tier and roof still to be added.

The Reds announced on December 4, 2014 plans to add around 8,500 seats to the Main Stand, taking its capacity to over 20,000, and thereby increasing Anfield's overall capacity to around 54,000.

Once completed, at some point during the 2016-17 season, the expanded Main Stand will become one of the largest all-seater stands in Europe's top divisions.

Building work began on January 8 this year, and cameras were installed overlooking the site, in order to monitor the expansion process carried out by the club's construction partner, Carillion.

You can watch the latest two months' worth of progress unfold below.
