Redevelopment work at Anfield has reached an exciting milestone after work to fit the iconic club crest to the front of the Main Stand got underway on Monday evening.

Construction workers began applying the first pieces of the badge to the Anfield Road side of the building shortly after 6pm.

At around nine metres (30 feet) high and six metres (20 feet) wide, the giant emblem - which arrived in sections - will be assembled on site over the next few days.

A second crest is set to be installed to the Kop end of the stand, with work expected to begin as soon as the Anfield Road badge is completed.
