Experience Anfield's new Main Stand before its first matchday
Liverpool are planning two exclusive events for fans and residents of Anfield to get a first look inside the stadium's redeveloped Main Stand before it officially opens for a matchday.
More than 15,000 supporters will be given an opportunity to experience some of the premium facilities inside the new stand as part of Anfield’s opening preparations, 600 days after work began.
The events have been organised as part of the safety certification process, which ensures that the stadium is ready to host the first home game of the season against Leicester City on Saturday September 10.
Entertainment will be on offer inside the new concourses, where supporters will be able to sample a selection of delicious food from the new matchday menu.
On the pitch, Liverpool Academy and Ladies players will be put through their paces in an open training session in front of Reds fans.
Supporters are invited to apply for tickets to the free events. The first takes place on Friday August 26 at 7.45pm BST, with Liverpool’s U18s training on the Anfield turf.
Michael Beale’s U23s side will then host an open training session alongside Liverpool Ladies on Monday August 29 at 3pm BST.
Turnstiles will open at 7pm on August 26 and 2pm on August 29, with both events closing promptly at 8.45pm and 4pm through a controlled and managed evacuation, which is part of the safety certification process. Fans will be guided towards exits by stewards as a rehearsal in preparation for the first home game.
Andrew Parkinson, operations director at LFC, said: “We’re delighted to be able to give fans and local residents an opportunity to get a first look inside the Main Stand before we host our first game. An incredible amount of work has been undertaken to deliver this world-class facility for our fans and completing the safety certification process is an important part of those preparations.”
Tickets for these events will be available here from 10am BST on Friday August 12 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Supporters can select up to a maximum of four tickets per person subject to availability, in the following priority order:
- Main Stand season ticket holders.
- All other season ticket holders and Members.
- General public (if tickets still remain).
