Charlotte Wardlaw has no doubts she is joining a club on the up after completing a season-long loan move to Liverpool FC Women.

The Reds' new No.2 has arrived on a temporary deal from Chelsea and is impressed at the ambition she sees from manager Matt Beard.

The goal for the upcoming campaign is promotion back to the Women's Super League, and Wardlaw is hoping to hit the ground running to help the team achieve it.

Read on as she discusses joining Liverpool FC Women…

On signing for LFC Women…

I'm so excited, it's a massive club and I'm really honoured to be here and to represent Liverpool. The girls have been great, they have really made me feel settled in and I feel this is the club to be at, at the moment.

On why she chose to come to Merseyside…

The manager has set up a team to win and to be promoted and it's an environment I want to be in. The girls are great and this is a great club with great people, so it was the move that I really wanted. I'm looking to get as much game time as possible and I want to put what I've been working on at Chelsea into the games that I can play here and show what I can do.

On a big season ahead for the club…

I want to help this team win promotion and to win. We want to keep this winning mentality in the group.

On the qualities Wardlaw wants to show the supporters…

I like to get on the ball, I like to create goalscoring opportunities and I also like to be composed and chill the game out when it needs to be done. I love defending, I'm quite a tough player. So, I just want to do my best for the team.

On how impressed she has been with Beard…

Matt has really big ambitions for this club and him saying I'm going to be a part of his team really made me want to come here, makes me feel important. He feels I can bring something to help this team achieve promotion and that's a big honour for me.

On hoping to make a good start, beginning with the season-opener against London City Lionesses at Prenton Park on August 29…

I'm ready and I'm ready to try to make an impact and show the Liverpool fans who I am and what I can do.
