The club's all-time record goalscorer and one of the most clinical finishers in the history of European football, Ian Rush fired Liverpool to a long list of glorious achievements during two goal-laden spells with the Reds.
The lean, mean, goalscoring machine netted the first of his record-breaking 346 strikes in 1981 and was still knocking them in 15 years later.
In 1983-84, a remarkable 47-goal haul was enough to see him become the first British player to win Europe's Golden Boot, while his tally of five FA Cup final goals is yet to be bettered.
Running onto perfectly-threaded through balls was his forte but also in his locker were countless close-range tap-ins, many well-drilled angled efforts, the odd 25-yard piledriver and occasional header.
His predatory instincts were feared at every opposition ground and Liverpool's master marksman netted against almost every team that had the misfortune to come up against him.
Records are there to be broken but it will take something extremely special to surpass those set by Rush.
