LFC legends entertain fans at Avalon Hollywood
Liverpool FC last night kicked off their first-ever visit to Los Angeles with a free fan event held at the iconic Avalon Hollywood.
The event, which was attended by around 800 supporters, featured a visit from LFC ambassadors Ian Rush, Robbie Fowler, Gary McAllister and legend Luis Garcia, who took part in a meet and greet as well as an on-stage Q&A.
The evening also included a nod to Liverpool’s other greatest export, with a performance by Beatles tribute act ‘With the Beatles’.
Fans got more than they bargained for when Fowler joined the crooners onstage to belt out some Beatles classics, while Garcia also caused a stir when he took to the stage holding a replica European Cup.
Fowler said: “Meeting LFC fans today and seeing their passion and enthusiasm for the club was fantastic. It’s always great to meet our fans, wherever in the world they are. If the fans here bring that energy to each of our US fixtures it will make for a fantastic occasion.”
The Reds’ first pre-season fixture in the USA comes against Chelsea at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, with the game kicking off at 8.30pm Pacific Time on Wednesday (4.30am BST on Thursday).
Jürgen Klopp’s side then take on AC Milan on Saturday and Roma next Monday before returning to the UK.
