Caulker delivers PE lesson at local primary school
Liverpool star Steven Caulker paid a special visit to Anfield Road Primary School on Tuesday to take part in the Liverpool FC Foundation’s Premier League School Sports programme.
In conjunction with the Premier League, the club’s official charity helps to deliver PE lessons to the youngsters who attend the primary school which is located next to the Reds’ famous stadium.
The Liverpool FC Foundation delivers National Curriculum PE lessons to different year groups throughout the school to help keep pupils fit and health and also support a well-rounded education.
The English international took part in a multi-sports lesson ran by the LFC Foundation coaches, with activities and games focusing on agility, balance and coordination. The children also had the chance to have photographs taken with the 2011-12 League Cup.
On visiting the school, Caulker said: “It is extremely important that children take part in PE lessons in order to stay fit and healthy. It’s a fantastic privilege to be able to help promote the benefits of an active lifestyle and to have fun with the kids as well is a bonus.
“This is my first outing with the LFC Foundation and it is great to see the work the Foundation does in the local community. It is really important that football clubs and players give back to the fans and local community.”
