Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier made a special return to Merseyside when he hosted an evening to support the work of the Hillsborough Family Support Group and LFC Foundation College.

The man who guided Liverpool to an incredible cup treble in 2001 spoke about the importance of education for all youngsters regardless of their progress in football.

The Frenchman was also keen to deliver a poignant message and told the students: "Life is about sharing, helping others and giving youngsters life-changing opportunities."

Houllier, who during his time as a manager coached the likes of Zinedine Zidane, also told the captivated audience why his former captain Steven Gerrard was the best player he ever worked with.
