Liverpool FC’s official charity, the LFC Foundation paid a special visit to the Street Soccer USA festival in San Francisco during the club's pre-season tour of the USA.
The soccer festival, hosted at Tenderloin Children’s Playground, aims to engage young people aged between six and 16, using football to create social impact in local communities and beyond.
As part of the festival LFC Foundation community coaches delivered coaching including skills and drills, a penalty shootout and small-sided games for more than 50 young people.
In addition to coaching provided by the Foundation, the special festival provided children with an opportunity to get involved in arts and crafts as well as face painting.
Club ambassadors Gary McAllister and Ian Rush and official LFC mascot, Mighty Red, also attended the event to meet with participants before signing autographs and posing for pictures.
McAllister said: “It was fantastic to be a part of the Street Soccer USA Festival. It was great to see all the young people getting stuck in and learning some new skills.”
Andrea Cooper, head of LFC Foundation added: “The LFC Foundation is committed to supporting young people across the world to improve their health and reach their potential.
"We are delighted to participate in this activity, and our team of expert community coaches has really enjoyed working with these fantastic young people."
