Liverpool FC has today announced a new global partnership with leading cyber security company NordVPN, to highlight the increasing importance of online safety and security.

NordVPN becomes the club’s official cyber security partner and will work with LFC to provide fans with robust internet security solutions across their devices, with the partnership focusing on protecting online supporters across the world.

NordVPN protects and secures the online identity and activity of users while they are accessing unsecured networks, such as public Wi-Fi in sport stadiums, hotels, cafés, airports and restaurants.

It will also aim to educate supporters on the potential risks of using unsecured networks and the importance of fans encrypting their internet connection to ensure privacy and safety online.

Billy Hogan, LFC’s managing director and chief commercial officer, said: “Increased awareness of cyber security is becoming incredibly important in our fast-paced, instantly connected society.

“While individuals are ultimately responsible for the information they share, having an extra layer of protection is highly recommended.

“We’re delighted that NordVPN has become our first official cyber security partner. With so much information constantly shared online, we’re committed to introducing greater levels of protection to secure the confidential data of our fans.”

Marty P. Kamden, chief marketing officer at NordVPN, said: “Over the years, NordVPN has become a leading online security solution, with more than eight million users worldwide.

“We provide a cost-effective, well thought out and fast virtual private network – protecting users anytime, anywhere, on any device.

“We’re honoured to establish our partnership with Liverpool FC, who we’re great fans of. We’re sure this partnership will bring more awareness about security and privacy issues online.”

To launch the partnership, NordVPN will be offering Reds fans a 30-day money back guarantee for new customers signing up at nordvpn.com/LFC, and a special offer on protection for three years at the equivalent of $2.99 per month.
