Fans Supporting Foodbanks returns for new season
Fans Supporting Foodbanks has returned to Anfield for a second season. The initiative, conceived by local Liverpool and Everton fan groups, is a joint collaboration which will see a mobile food collection bank hosted both at Anfield and Goodison Park on matchdays.
Supporters will be able to donate much-needed food supplies at the mobile collection point located in the Centenary Car Park ahead of this weekend's meeting with Hull City at Anfield.
The weight of food donated by fans during the Reds' first home game of the season against Leicester City was 56.4kg. That weight converted into cash is £94.18 and will cover four family food parcels.
The club kindly asks fans to donate the following food items:
- Tinned vegetables
- Rice
- Fruit juice
- Coffee
- Curry and pasta sauce
- Sugar
- Custard
- Cup-a-soups
- Noodles
- Jam
Any items fans can donate will be gratefully received, with all donations being equally split between two north Liverpool foodbanks - the St Andrews Community Network and Anfield Breckside Community Council (ABCC).
Fans will be able keep up to date with the scheme's progress by following @LFC on Twitter, or using the hashtag #HDWCC, where they will find tweets detailing the total amount of food collected and also any specific items required for the next collection.
