LFC Foundation to host LGBTQ+ tournament
LFC Foundation and Liverpool County FA will host a LGBTQ+ tournament and festival next month in the build up to Liverpool Pride.
The free event, held at Anfield Sports and Community Centre on Saturday July 7, will aim to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and promote health and wellbeing amongst the community.
David McParland, LFC Foundation Project lead, said: "We'd like to invite both teams and individual players from across the LGBTQ+ community, as well as allies, to come down and get involved.
"It promises to be a great day with plenty of fun activities for all ages, abilities and backgrounds."
The mixed five-a-side tournament is open to everyone aged 16 and over, and LFC Foundation coaches will be on hand to offer football skills sessions for children aged five to 11. Visitors can also browse a range of health and wellbeing stalls throughout the day.
