LFC Foundation hosts Halloween fun
LFC Foundation took over Norris Green Park earlier this week to create a special half-term Halloween event for local families.
Groups were led on a spooky sensory trail around the park - through a ghoulish graveyard, pumpkin patch and witches den - with LFC Foundation coaches reciting creepy tales along the way.
Specially adapted sensory activities allowed children and young people with additional needs to explore, investigate, play and create alongside their friends and family, ensuring that the event - which was organised alongside Friends of Norris Green Park - was accessible and enjoyable for all.
Katie Ellis, LFC Foundation project lead, said: “The afternoon was definitely a success - the feedback from parents has been fantastic, so we’re really pleased.
“We aim to make all of our events and activities accessible for all, and we will certainly be planning more sensory events like this in future.”
LFC’s official mascot, Mighty Red, greeted the families on arrival and handed out Halloween treats to the children. Coaches from LFC Foundation’s Open Goals programme also provided fun, inclusive multi-sports games, including hot potato, tag, quick cricket and dodgeball.
LFC Foundation uses Norris Green Park, among a number of other local public parks, to host their Open Goals sessions each week. More information on session times and locations can be found here.
