Liverpool FC Foundation coaches delivered soccer clinics to over 650 youngsters in the USA this month as part of the Reds' 2019 pre-season tour.

Local children and young people took part in eight different soccer clinics in South Bend, Boston and New York during the nine-day trip.

Hosted by LFC Foundation community coaches with LFC's official mascot, Mighty Red on hand for support, the football sessions consisted of a warm-up, fun games, skill-based drills and small sided games.

Special guests also took part in various sessions throughout the tour, including LFC Legend Vladimir Smicer and LFC Women's quartet Ashley Hodson, Jess Clarke, Jade Bailey and Melissa Lawley.

Matt Parish, director of LFC Foundation, said: "To be able to invite so many children from the local area to our football sessions is brilliant and something we've really enjoyed doing whilst here in the US.

"All the kids came to us with a great attitude and a real enthusiasm to learn and improve their skills. Being able to host these sessions is a very important part of our aim as a Foundation to create life changing opportunities for children and young people."

A variety of local young people engaged in the free soccer clinics including local Notre Dame team, Michiana Echo, official LFC members, children invited by the club’s principal partner Standard Chartered and youngsters from local non-for-profit organisations Boston Scores and United Way of St. Joseph County.
