LFC Foundation host multi-sports session for children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus
LFC Foundation teamed up with a national spina bifida and hydrocephalus charity to host a day of multi-sports activities for local kids on Saturday.
The club’s official charity joined Shine – an organisation providing specialist advice and support for those with spina bifida and hydrocephalus – to deliver an introductory sports session at Anfield Sports Community Centre for youngsters with the conditions.
Twenty local children aged three to 10 and their families took part in activities such as wheelchair football, tennis and new age kurling.
The event concluded with a surprise visit from the club’s official mascot Mighty Red, who brought along the Champions League trophy for the youngsters to have their photograph with.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation Director, said: “We were delighted to team up with Shine to host such a memorable event for children with bifida and hydrocephalus and their families.
“Inclusion is hugely important across all of our LFC Foundation sessions – it’s great to be able to offer children with these conditions the opportunity to get involved in a variety of different sports alongside their siblings and families.”
