LFC Foundation teams up with BullyBusters during Anti-Bullying Week
LFC Foundation, the club's official charity, delivered a range of educational workshops and activities in local schools last week to raise awareness for Anti-Bullying Week.
Delivered through the Premier League Primary Stars programme, LFC Foundation staff spent time educating local young people on the impact of bullying alongside how to integrate the four core values of the PLPS programme – to be ambitious, inspiring, connected and fair – into their behaviour to ensure that we live in a kinder and more inclusive community.
The core value that children were told to focus on was #BeFair and were then invited to explain what the term means to them.
LFC Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars programme uses the appeal of the Premier League and Liverpool FC to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
As part of their support, PLPS staff delivered a ‘Do the right thing’ workshop to Year Three and Four in Pinehurst Primary School. The educational session focused on creating your own school rules to ensure that everyone is treated equally and given the opportunity to play together during lunchtimes.
LFC Foundation also teamed up with BullyBusters – an anti-bullying initiative that provides training and awareness sessions for adults and young people – to offer guidance on how to report and spot bullying going forward.
Matt Parish, LFC Foundation director, said: “We are proud to play our part – alongside BullyBusters – in tackling the issue of bullying in order to create a friendly and more inclusive environment for our local young people.
“We are fortunate to be able to use the power of the LFC badge to instil positive change within school environments and create positive attitudes in young people going forward.”
