"I thought: 'I've got to make a go of it.'"

It's with typical understatement that Bob Paisley recalls his emotions prior to taking on the seemingly impossible task of succeeding Bill Shankly.

'Make a go of it', he did.

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Paisley's birth, we've pieced together audio of the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen, Graeme Souness and Ian Rush talking about a legendary figure who spent 44 years of his life with Liverpool Football Club.

Along with reverential insight from a litany of the club's icons, there are also words from the man who managed the Reds to a staggering haul of 20 trophies during a glorious nine-year spell in charge.

The end product is Paisley: Tribute to a Genius, which is available for LFCTV GO subscribers to enjoy above.
