Coutinho: LFC is like a family
Philippe Coutinho has explained why becoming part of the 'Liverpool family' has helped him settle quickly into the dressing room and allowed him to showcase his talents on the pitch.
The No.10 has impressed in his four appearances for the Reds since joining from Inter Milan in January - and attributes the unity amongst the squad as a key reason behind his impressive start.
"The mood in the dressing room - in the whole club - everybody is united, like a family," Coutinho explained to Liverpoolfc.com.
"I could tell that right from the first day when I arrived and I think that is very important for a young player, to feel confident.
"He can feel at ease, despite the young age and then work very well. I think this is one of the strong points of Liverpool."
Meanwhile, Coutinho insists Liverpool are determined to ensure they seal a return to European competition next season over the final nine Barclays Premier League matches of the campaign.
However, the Brazilian insists no-one within the camp will look beyond today's trip to Southampton.
He said: "[European qualification] is what the team wants - and everybody wants. The team will fight for it in every match.
"In every training session we try to improve to play better and go higher in the table, but I still prefer to concentrate on each game, be confident, try to win each match and hope that in the end we will manage to qualify for Europe.
"We are trying to put in practice what the manager wants from us, what we practice during the week and we hope to be able to qualify for Europe."
