The midfielder broke the deadlock against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield with as fine a goal as he could have envisaged, opening his account after his summer switch to the club from Southampton.
He drove forward from the left channel, crafted a one-two with Jordan Henderson to move inside the Baggies' penalty area and calmly dispatched an accurate finish past Ben Foster to lay the foundations for a 2-1 victory.
