Lallana: It's up to us to change it
Adam Lallana acknowledges Liverpool are yet to reach the high standards they expect of themselves so far this season, but remains confident they can achieve their goals over the remainder of 2014-15.
Following the international break, the Reds head to Crystal Palace on Sunday aiming to bring a run of three successive defeats to a halt and begin to climb back towards to the top of the table.
Brendan Rodgers' side went into this weekend in 11th position in the standings, four points off the top four - but qualifying for the Champions League for a second successive campaign remains well within sight, insists Lallana.
He told BBC Football Focus: "Liverpool are a worldwide name as a football club. They've got massive history and off the back of last season, doing so well and coming so close to winning the league, there are high standards and we've not reached them yet.
"We're as disappointed as anyone, but we're the ones who can change that. We're determined to do that.
"We still feel we can finish in the top four. The manager has said since he came in he's felt the team has improved, but without winning a trophy, so that is definitely a target [as well].
"But we don't want to look that far at the moment - we want to get back to winning ways and with the game at the weekend against Palace, it's a great chance for us to get three points and start a run."

On a personal note, Lallana has tallied 12 appearances and scored one goal since moving to Anfield from Southampton in the summer.
Injuries curtailed the start of his Liverpool career, but now fully fit and challenging for a place in the starting XI for each game, the 26-year-old is loving life on Merseyside.
Lallana said: "It was a slow start, really frustrating. I just wanted to be in and among the squad, but apart from the results being indifferently lately, I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Liverpool so far and feel like I am settled now into the squad.
"It was the first time I'd moved away from my family and where I was brought up, but it's something I've really enjoyed. I'm delighted the move happened and I'll continue to keep working hard.
"I don't like being in my comfort zone. It's nice to always test yourself and push the boundaries. I want to keep pushing myself to get better and play better."
