Adam Lallana knows there must be no let-up in Liverpool's focused approach when Blackburn Rovers try to stem their march towards FA Cup glory this weekend.

The competition has tested the Reds' resolve this season with a tricky trip to AFC Wimbledon, a replay against Bolton Wanderers and a return to Selhurst Park.

But each one has been navigated with composure, all ultimately by a 2-1 scoreline, to set up a last eight contest with Blackburn to decide a semi-final place at Wembley.

Belief is coursing through Brendan Rodgers' side following a determined victory over champions Manchester City and a professional win against Burnley.

Yet confidence will not spoil into complacency on Sunday, promised Lallana, whose rebound goal completed a turnaround at Crystal Palace in the last round.

He said: "It is a great competition in which we have a great chance of getting to Wembley in the semi-final.

"We won't underestimate Blackburn, we will dust ourselves down, recover well and go again Sunday.

"A lot of the big guns went out in the early rounds so it is good that we can maybe capitalise on that, but Blackburn will not be an easy game.

"They will come here full of optimism and will want to cause an upset."

Liverpool can train their sights on the FA Cup and Blackburn safe in the knowledge that the league campaign is back on track, with seven wins in the last eight games.

The 2-0 result when Burnley visited Anfield included an eighth shut-out of 2015 - another hallmark of what the reinvented Reds are capable of, according to Lallana.

The midfielder added: "Beating Burnley was a massive win and not just that, off the back of the effort we put into the match against City it was a potential banana skin.

"But the lads put on a professional display. We were brilliant in the first half and could have been two or three up, and we got the goal early in the second half and it was comfortable in the last half-hour.

"We have a great rhythm and a good bit of consistency and are keeping clean sheets as well. We've turned a corner since Christmas and we are really looking good.

"It was a difficult start but all the signings have bedded in now and we have players back fit and we have found a system, we are playing really well and are causing teams problems.

"Confidence is a big thing in any team and we have that in abundance and I think it is showing."
