Lallana: More to come from me

The 27-year-old joined the Reds from Southampton last summer, capping a meteoric rise that saw him go from League One regular to full England international.

However, a knee injury suffered during pre-season training in the United States put the midfielder out of action for six weeks, and disrupted his efforts to acclimatise to a new environment.

Further problems with his hamstring and groin in January and March respectively meant Lallana largely struggled to find his rhythm, despite some impressive performances over the course of the 2014-15 campaign.

So the No.20 is hoping for better luck next time around as he looks to help Brendan Rodgers' team bounce back.

"I've had a few injuries, which have set me back in terms of my flow," he said. "I've got going a couple of times, the team was on a good run and then got injured.

"We got to two semi-finals at Liverpool and it was disappointing we couldn't get to the finals. Then, in the end, finishing sixth, which was disappointing because our target was top four.

"But there's plenty more from me to come next season. I feel at home at Liverpool, I feel I've settled in well, my family have settled and the fans have been great as well. So have the lads in the dressing room.

"I think we'll learn from it. The team has experienced it and we'll have to come back and work twice as hard in pre-season. We'll need to look to put things right on the pitch, that's all we can do."

Lallana also revealed that Liverpool have gained an extra fan since his arrival at the club - his son, three-year-old Arthur. 

"He comes to the games, loves coming to Anfield, he was on the pitch at the end of the season," he continued. "He keeps asking when he can go back."

When the Englishman returns to Melwood ahead of next season, he will have additional competition for a starting berth in midfield courtesy of James Milner.

The 29-year-old has agreed to join the Reds from Manchester City when his contract expires next month, subject to a medical, and Lallana is pleased with the acquisition of his international colleague.

"James Milner is a fantastic player," said Lallana. "He's played his whole career in different positions.

"He's won so many caps, won titles and trophies with Manchester City and it's great for Liverpool to sign someone like him.

"James is going to be a vital addition to the squad. He's a complete role model.

"He's got unbelievable ability and sometimes people don't appreciate that in the way they should. Left foot, right foot, got a goal in his locker and always fit. He's the perfect player.

"It's a big statement that he chose to come to Liverpool and shows that he's got ambition. He could have easily stayed at City, but he chose us.

"He's versatile. He won't kick up a fuss if he's asked to play in a different position. It's a team game and sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for the team.

"For a player of his ability, to go on a free transfer, it doesn't happen very often. It's great Liverpool have persuaded him to come to us."
