Liverpool fans' incredible support for the club was recognised with a prize at the Football Association's Respect and Fair Play Awards on Sunday.

Now in their seventh year, the awards acknowledge the commitment of individuals, clubs and administrators to promote respect and fair play across all levels of the game.

And the behaviour and passion of Kopites was celebrated at the Wembley ceremony as the Reds were presented with the Premier League Supporters Award.

FA chairman Greg Dyke commented: "This has been a long-term commitment to tackle worrying trends and it is clearly having an effect. The Respect [Award] winners have led this change."

Liverpool fans will be on the road as the season begins at Stoke City this weekend, before the first Anfield match of the campaign, against Bournemouth on August 17.
